Frequently, a primary care provider needs more information about a patient’s health issues before making a referral for specialty care. Imaging is the most needed ancillary health service, and Imaging Healthcare Specialists has been extremely supportive of Project Access San Diego. As the first imaging group to join the program in July 2009, I.H.S. has donated numerous imaging studies for Project Access patients, enabling community clinic physicians and volunteer specialists to provide appropriate and timely care for their patients.

Patients are also grateful to have an imaging service that may provide them with a diagnosis for a specific disease that they otherwise would not have known. I.H.S. is the largest provider of out-patient imaging services with eleven locations in San Diego County. I.H.S. is also assisting PASD to assure that women with suspicious breast screening results receive appropriate diagnostic services to identify and treat breast cancer in its earliest stages. Imaging Healthcare Specialists CEO Tom Cleary, the radiology partners and staff are all SDCMS Foundation heroes, and we are grateful for their continuing support!
