Saturday Surgery Days
Kaiser Permanente and Carlsbad Surgery Center provide regularly scheduled Saturday Surgery Days to help get patients back to their lives, work and families. Since late 2008, we have assisted hundreds of patients through surgeries such as hernia repair, gallbladder removal, and other painful conditions that often prevent a person from employment. Colorectal Cancer Diagnostics
Kaiser Permanente has led the way in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer for patients identified through screening as at risk for cancer. Since 2009, colorectal cancer diagnostics have been a part of the Super Saturday Surgery Days provided by Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff. Primary care physicians can refer patients for colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy if they have the following indications:
- Positive FOBT
- Rectal bleeding
- Iron deficiency anemia
- Finding on a flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Family history
